I accept piano students at the age of six and older. All students are taught to:
- read music
- write and publish their OWN music
- play scales and cadences
- understand music theory
- have a basic knowledge of music history
- identify intervals and music direction by ear (aural training)
- play by lead sheets
With and end goal of:
- acceptance into a college music program
- preparedness to try out for college scholarships
- preparedness to take the AP Music Theory test, which can allow students to skip the first year of college music courses.
Siblings or friends taking piano lessons together:
Siblings or friends taking piano lessons back to back get to rotate through the learning stations, while the other student has a lesson at the big piano with me.
