This is where the real fun begins. Students learn new skills at every lesson to take home and master over the week. They will not only learn to read music, but also how to create their own music, play by lead sheets, and sing at the piano. We often play ‘games’ - both off and on the bench - that reinforce concepts learned, so don't be surprised when they come home with a big smile.
Options for very beginners, and very advanced pianists:
Very young children learning in the Primer Level may take introductory piano lessons. These students are learning the basics of note reading and learning how to practice at home, usually with parent supervision. After the first semester, they will move to regular piano lessons.
Advanced students are practicing on their own at home 6-7 days a week, for 60 minutes or more per day. They don't need parents to remind them to practice. They show exceptional talent and dedication to piano. They are learning to write full-length piano compositions and/or singer-songwriter songs with lyrics. They may be considering pursuing a degree in music.
Prices listed are the average charge per month. Tuition for the school year will be paid in equal installments, 3 times per year.
Tuition for the summer months is not included in the school year and is billed separately.
Additional fees to consider are ongoing lesson books (about $15 per book) and the cost of a piano. All students need either an acoustic piano or a digital piano at home for daily practice. A full-size, fully weighted keyboard will suffice for the first semester only.
